Who we are
All Video Downloader ("the app") is published by Hamo Apps ("we", "us"). The app is an offline media player and file manager: it plays videos and audio already on your device, organises them into playlists and favourites, trims clips, and manages downloads you start yourself.
This policy explains how the app handles information. It applies to the Android app distributed through Google Play and to any support channel we run. By installing and using the app, you agree to what is described here. If you disagree with any part of it, please uninstall the app.
What we collect — and what we don't
We do not collect personal information
The app has no sign-up, no login and no user accounts. We do not ask for or store your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, calendar, call logs or messages. We do not read, copy, upload or transmit the media files stored on your device.
Information that stays on your device
The following is created by your own use and is written only to the app's private storage on your phone:
- Playlists, favourites, watch history and playback position
- Theme, accent colour, language and player preferences
- Paths to media files you have opened, downloaded or trimmed
- Download queue status and completed download records
Clearing the app's data or uninstalling it deletes all of the above permanently. None of it is backed up to us, because we have no server that receives it.
Information collected automatically by third parties
To show ads and keep the app free, Google AdMob receives a limited set of technical data. This is covered in full in Section 04.
Information you choose to send us
If you use the in-app contact or support form, you send us the message you write, and optionally an email address so we can reply. We use it to answer you and nothing else. Support messages are deleted once the issue is closed and no longer needed for our records.
Every permission, and why
Below is the complete list of Android permissions declared by the app, written exactly as they appear in the app manifest. Tap any one to see what it does and what it does not do. Nothing here is used for tracking or profiling.
READ_MEDIA_VIDEO
Find and play the videos on your device
Lets the app list and open video files in your gallery and storage folders so you can play them. Files are read locally by the player. They are never copied, scanned for content, or sent anywhere.

Find and play audio files and extracted MP3s
Used for audio playback and for the MP3 side of the app. Same rule as video: read locally, never uploaded.

READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Same access on Android 12 and older
Android 12 and below do not have the newer granular media permissions, so this legacy permission does the same job there. It is capped at Android 12 in the manifest and is not requested on newer versions.

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Save downloads and trimmed clips on Android 10 and older
Needed to write finished files into your public Downloads or Movies folder on older Android versions. Capped at Android 10 in the manifest. On newer versions the app uses scoped storage and does not need it.

INTERNET
Load ads and complete downloads you start
Used for two things: fetching ads from Google AdMob, and transferring files for downloads you explicitly initiate. The app does not send your media, your library index or your usage history over the network.

Check if you are online before starting a transfer
Reads whether a connection exists so downloads can pause and resume cleanly and so failed transfers show a useful message. It does not read your network name, IP history or nearby networks.

FOREGROUND_SERVICE
Keep downloads and playback alive in the background
Together with FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK, this keeps a download running or music playing when you leave the app. Android requires a visible notification while these services run, so you always know when they are active.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Show download progress and player controls
Used only for functional notifications: download progress, download complete, and the media controls in your notification shade. We do not send marketing or promotional push notifications.

WAKE_LOCK
Stop the device sleeping mid-download
Held only while a download or playback session is actually running, and released the moment it finishes. It does not keep your screen on or drain battery in the background.

SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW
Picture-in-picture and floating player
Supports the floating and picture-in-picture player so video can continue over other apps. It is optional, granted by you in system settings, and used for nothing else — no overlays are drawn on other apps' content.
OptionalYou can revoke any of these at any time in Settings → Apps → All Video Downloader → Permissions. Features that depend on a revoked permission will stop working, but the app will not collect anything to compensate.
Advertising
The app is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. AdMob is operated by Google and collects a limited amount of data to select, deliver, measure and protect ads. This typically includes:
- Your device's advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID), which you can reset or delete at any time
- Device and app information such as model, operating system version, language and app version
- IP address, from which a coarse, city-level location may be derived
- Ad interaction events — whether an ad was shown, viewed or tapped
We do not receive any of this data in a form that identifies you. Our reporting shows totals only: impressions, clicks and revenue. We cannot see individual users.
Turning off personalised ads
On your device, open Settings → Google → Ads and choose to delete or reset your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation. You will still see ads, but they will not be based on an ad profile. Where required by law, the app also shows a consent request before personalised ads are loaded, and you can change your choice from the app's settings screen.
Google's own handling of this data is governed by its privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy, and its advertising terms at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Third-party services
The app integrates a small number of services. Each has its own privacy policy, which we recommend reading:
- Google AdMob — ad delivery and measurement
- Google Play Services — required framework for distribution, licensing and integrity checks
- Google Play Store — installation, updates and crash reporting available to us in aggregate
If the app plays content from a link you provide, that request goes directly from your device to the site hosting it. We do not proxy it, log it or store it. That site's own privacy practices apply to the request.
How data is used
Any data touched by the app serves one of four purposes, and no others:
- Running the app — playing your files, remembering your playlists, resuming where you stopped
- Keeping it free — showing ads through AdMob
- Fixing problems — aggregated crash and stability reports from Google Play, which contain no personal data
- Answering you — replying to support messages you send us
We do not sell data. We do not build user profiles. We do not run our own analytics SDK, and we do not share anything with data brokers.
Storage and retention
All app data — settings, playlists, favourites, history, downloaded files and trimmed clips — is stored locally on your device. It stays there for as long as you keep the app installed, and is removed when you clear the app's storage or uninstall it.
We hold no user database. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing on our side to retain, export or delete. Data held by Google as part of AdMob and Play Services is retained under Google's policies, not ours.
Support emails, if you send one, are kept only while the conversation is open and deleted afterwards.
Sharing and disclosure
We share nothing with anyone, with three narrow exceptions:
- Ad partners — the technical data described in Section 04, collected directly by Google AdMob
- Legal obligation — if we are required by valid law, court order or regulatory process to disclose information we hold
- Business transfer — if the app is sold or transferred, this policy travels with it, and you will be told before anything changes
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age set by the law where you live), and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through our support channel, contact us and we will delete it.
Ads shown in the app are configured to comply with Google Play's Families policy requirements and applicable child-protection law, including COPPA and GDPR-K where relevant.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the EU and UK, the CCPA/CPRA in California, and the UAE Personal Data Protection Law — you have the following rights. Because we hold no personal data about you, most of these are satisfied directly on your own device.
Access
Everything the app stores is visible to you inside the app itself. There is no hidden record held elsewhere.
Erasure
Clear the app's data or uninstall it, and every trace is gone from your device.
Object
Reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, at any time in your device settings.
Withdraw consent
Revoke any permission from Android's app settings without uninstalling.
Non-sale
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Complain
You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We would rather you write to us first.
Security
Data stored by the app sits in Android's private application sandbox, which other apps cannot read. Network requests use HTTPS wherever the destination supports it. The app is signed and distributed only through Google Play; builds obtained from other sources are not ours and we cannot vouch for what they contain.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We apply reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security, and the physical security of your device remains yours to manage.
Content and copyright
The app is a media player and file manager. It does not host, index or supply any copyrighted content, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to YouTube, Google LLC, or any other content platform. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for making sure that any file you save or play with the app is one you own, have permission to use, or that is offered for download by its rights holder. Downloading copyrighted material without authorisation may breach the terms of the source platform and the law where you live. Do not use the app for that purpose.
If you are a rights holder and believe the app is being used in a way that infringes your rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond promptly.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the app changes or the law requires it. The effective date at the top of the page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced in the app or in the Play Store release notes before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
