MixTube is built to work without knowing who you are. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what the app touches — and what it deliberately leaves alone.

Who we are

The app and the developer

MixTube is a music player and downloader for Android, developed by Hamo Apps. This policy covers the MixTube app published on Google Play under the package zamalek.premium.

Almost everything MixTube does happens locally on your phone. There is no MixTube account system, and no MixTube server holding a profile about you. That single design decision is what most of this policy follows from.

Part two

Where your data lives

Stays on your device

This is the largest category by far. The following never leaves your phone, and we have no technical way to read it:

Your musicAudio files on your device, and anything you download through the app.
PlaylistsPlaylists you create, and the songs inside them.
FavouritesTracks you mark with the heart icon.
Recently playedYour local play history, used to fill the home screen.
Trimmed clipsClips made in the trim studio, kept in the app's private folder.
App settingsLanguage, equaliser presets, sleep timer and playback preferences.
About the backup file. So that reinstalling does not wipe your favourites and playlists, MixTube writes a small backup into Music/MixTube. It stays on your device and is never uploaded anywhere.

Leaves your device

Only three things do, and none of them identify you personally.

1 · Search and streaming requests

When you search for or play online music, that request goes to public third-party sources so results and audio can be returned — the same kind of request your browser makes when you visit a website.

2 · Advertising data

Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may access your device's resettable advertising ID, coarse location and general device information in order to select and measure ads. This is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy, not by us. Ads are what keep MixTube free.

3 · Remote configuration

On launch the app fetches a small configuration file that controls ad placement and feature flags. It is a one-way download; the request carries no personal data.

In the EEA, UK and Switzerland you are shown a consent screen before any personalised ads are served, and you can change that choice later from Settings.

Never collected at all

Your name, email address or phone number
Your contacts, messages, photos or call logs
Precise GPS location
Payment or financial details
The contents of your music library, playlists or listening habits
Account credentials — there is no MixTube account to begin with

We also do not sell data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. There is no exception to this.

Part three

What the app asks for

Permissions, and why each one is needed

Android asks your approval before MixTube can do certain things. Each is used for exactly one purpose:

Audio & mediaRead the songs on your device so they can be listed and played.
StorageSave downloads and trimmed clips to your device.
NotificationsShow playback controls while music plays, and report download progress.
InternetSearch and stream online music, and load ads.

You can revoke any permission from Android Settings at any time. The related feature will stop working, but nothing is collected in its place.

Music, downloads and copyright

When you download a track it is written to the Music/MixTube folder in your own storage. You can move, rename, copy or delete those files freely — they are ordinary files on your device.

MixTube does not host, own or distribute any music. Content comes from public third-party sources. You are responsible for ensuring your use of downloaded material complies with copyright law and the terms of the source, in your country.

Your control

Keeping and deleting your data

Because your data lives on your device, you control its lifetime. There is nothing held on our side for you to request deletion of.

Clear app dataAndroid Settings ▸ Apps ▸ MixTube ▸ Storage. Resets settings, favourites and playlists.
UninstallRemoves the app and the data it manages.
Downloaded filesDeliberately left in Music/MixTube after uninstall — they are yours. Remove them with any file manager.
Reset ad IDAndroid Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Ads, to reset or delete your advertising ID.

Security

Network requests use encrypted connections wherever the source supports it. Keeping your data on-device is itself the strongest protection we can offer: data that is never transmitted cannot be intercepted in transit or exposed in a server breach.

That said, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

MixTube is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, contact us and we will address it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves or as regulations change. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date at the top of the page.

Continuing to use MixTube after an update means you accept the revised policy.
